Industrial Led Lighting Solutions For Your Warehouse
Check your company’s high bay lighting. Check the surroundings they are lighting with their lights. Is it a secure area? Are customers and employees comfortable working and performing business in that illuminated space?
Commercial high bay lighting comes in many shapes and forms. The most common, of course, is the fixture you commonly see on ceiling panels and in picture windows. This fixture usually illuminates large areas with several small bulbs. Because of its height and shape, it can be difficult to conceal, so it is typically placed near other sources of natural light to help illuminate the area as well as add ambient light.
Floating and Ground Lamps
There are also floating and ground lamps used for high bay lighting fixtures that have a flat top or “teardrop” shape. They are designed to create a uniform level of illumination from all sides and to provide coverage of a larger area than do the ceiling globes. However, because they are flush with the ceiling, you can install fewer of them, which saves you money in energy costs.
Other Lighting Options
In addition to high bay lighting fixtures, you may want to use other types of lighting. You can use a combination of recessed lighting, fluorescent lights, or industrial lighting, for example. A good commercial electrician can design a system that uses these different types of lights to create the kinds of lighting you want. The warehouse layout you have in mind may require different lighting fixtures than what is shown in an electrician’s plan. The warehouse walls and ceiling may need different fixtures than the plan calls for. The more you know about lighting before hiring an electrician, the easier it will be on him and your project.
Choose the Right Fixtures
When you have decided what types of high bay lighting fixtures you need for your warehouse, it is time to choose your industrial led lighting fixtures. Most warehouses use fluorescent lights because they are cheap and also give off very little heat. But there are some places where you may need other types of lighting solutions. If your warehouse has a large amount of exposed concrete, for example, you will probably want to consider using industrial LED lights.
Choose the Right LED Lights
Industrial LED lights come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes to meet any goal you have for your warehouse lighting. One thing to remember, however, is to make sure you have enough height for any fixture you install. The last thing you want is a light hanging low, only to be bumped into by the stack of boxes.
You also want to install lights that are the correct height for the ceiling. Consult with an electrician about this, but the general rule of thumb is that the bottom of the fixture should be no more than six feet from the floor or the edge of the ceiling.
